-- ANIMAL FACTS --
THE GIRAFFE

The giraffe is the world's tallest animal.
It's long neck lets it reach leaves and vegetation other animals cannot. The neck of the giraffe is actually made up the same way as other mammals, with seven vertebrae. It's just longer!
Giraffes are actually born with horns.
Like our fingerprints, a giraffe's coat is unique as well as very pretty.
Male giraffes will often neck wrestle with each other.
They have extremely elastic blood vessels in their neck that help them lean their heads down to drink. It's a good thing they do or they would get dizzy each time they tried to get water from a stream.
Female giraffes (cows) feed for up to 12 hours a day while male giraffes (bulls) feed much less often. Males and females tend to eat from different parts of a tree. This way they don't fight over the food.
